Adam Lambert Calls out Trolls for Hateful Comments on his Boyfriend

Openly gay singer Adam Lambert let internet trolls know their hateful comments about his boyfriend, Oliver Gliese, weren't appreciated – and weren't cool.
Buzzfeed reported that the pair stepped out for a Friday night in West Hollywood on Aug. 4. "Oliver, 28, was dressed in a fabulous sheer black top with black and white shorts with cute stars and stripes," the report noted. "Both Adam and Oliver complemented each other with silver nail polish, green smokey eyes, and accented jewelry fit for fiercest royalty."
The couple's night of fun followed a July 28 Instagram post in which Lambert noted that he and Gliese had celebrated Gliese's 28th birthday.
But trolls attacked Oliver "with hateful comments toward Oliver's appearance," BuzzFeed said.
Just Jared detailed that "some people rushed online to troll him and make fun of his look while also making jokes about his sexuality and identity."
Lambert stepped up, taking to Instagram Stories with an epic chiding for those behind the shallow and mean-spirited comments.
"Oli and I had a fun night out! Rare to encounter paps in WEHO, so retro," Lambert prefaced his response. "Lifts my spirits to see support in the comments."
"Also appalled to see the obnoxious homophobia and ignorance plaguing people rn [right now]," the 41-year-old pop singer, who tours with Queen, added, before serving up some justice.
"Oli identifies as a he," Lambert wrote. "he has wicked style and refuses to conform to the societal norms regarding his fashion choices. He is beautiful and brave, and daring. He's a leader, not a follower. One of the many things I love about him! We are very happy together, and if the haters don't like it, we don't really give a fuck."
"Grow up and challenge yourself to explore tolerance," Lambert added. "We are all just trying to stay happy and fulfilled with our lives. Chances are, if you're busy trolling us online, you're miserable in your own life and can't deal w your issues."
Gliese also took to Instagram Stories to dress down the haters, UK newspaper The Independent relayed.
"Let's just highlight how disgusting people are in comments sections," Gliese wrote. "And then we can all ask ourselves why people in the spotlight end their life too soon, are on antidepressents, have low self-esteem, dieting etc."
"Kindness never killed anyone!" Gliese stressed. "Also, I'm not dressing like a girl, nor do I identify as a girl. I identify as a man, I just happen to have great legs I wanna show and love makeup! I'm also a man who can't fit a lot of menswear because I'm too small, AND menswear are sooooo boring often."
Later on, Gliese returned to Instagram Stories with a followup that read: "Thank u babies for all the sweet messages and support you always show."
"Thank you to people who sees [sic] and respects me as me. Thank you for respecting me and my partner. Thank you for sharing love and not hate online," he added.
"Now I'm gonna watch Taylor Swift and cry my makeup off," Gliese added, "maybe that'll please some of y'all haha."
"Adam and Oliver went public with their relationship back in 2020 and have been together since," Just Jared recalled.
It's clear from Lambert's defense of his partner that love, commitment, and chivalry do still exist.
