New York Fire Dept.'s Hunk-Filled Calendar Set for Return in 2026

The Fire Department of New York used to put out an annual "Calendar of Heroes" to rescue us all year long. After a three-year absence, that hunk-filled calendar is scheduled to return thanks to the the FDNY Foundation, "a nonprofit that raises funds for Gotham's fire equipment and training," the New York Post reported.
The long-running calendar featured "hot firefighters, EMTs and paramedics," the Post detailed, but "was initially canned due to dwindling sales after the COVID pandemic..."
But the public seems ready for another dose of five-alarm beefcake.
"It was one of the most in-demand items we've had, a successful fundraising tool for years," FDNY Foundation chair Matt DiLiberto told the Post, "and we've gotten tremendous interest in" the planned 2026 edition.
"The new calendar will allow us to showcase the health, fitness and wellness of the FDNY, and depict our firefighters, EMTs and paramedics as the heroes they are," DiLiberto added.
More than that, "Proceeds from the calendar directly support the FDNY Foundation's lifesaving mission to enhance fire and life safety education, training initiatives and resources for the FDNY," the FDNY Foundation's website says.
The hunt is on even now for the men and women who will be given the full-on glossy treatment. "Vying participants were recently asked to start submitting their glamor shots," the Post noted.
Sexy calendars have long been a reliable staple for charitable causes looking to raise funds. Like the FDNY's "Calendar of Heroes," which branched out to include versions showcasing men, women, and animals, the sizzling sister publication from down under, the Australian Firefighters Calendar, comes in a number of different annual editions. That calendar, which started ticking off our journeys around the sun in 1993, has raised nearly $3.5 million for a variety of organizations, many of them dedicated to animal welfare.
