Jason Kelce Slams Fan's Phone after Homophobic Slur Aimed at Brother for Dating Taylor Swift

CBS Sports and other media outlets report that former Philadelphia Eagles center and current NFL media personality Jason Kelce had an altercation with a fan at State College before Penn State hosted Ohio State on Saturday.

Kelce, who was appearing on ESPN's "College GameDay," was followed by a fan who made a homophobic slur about Jason's brother, Travis Kelce, regarding his relationship with pop megastar Taylor Swift.

The fan said, "Kelce, how does it feel that your brother is a faggot for dating Taylor Swift?"

Kelce responded by snatching the phone from his hand and slamming it onto the ground before walking away with the device. The fan demanded his phone back, to which Kelce replied, "Who's the faggot now?"

A second clip of the incident can be seen in this tweet.

Travis Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end and Jason's brother, has been dating Taylor Swift since the summer of 2023 after saying on the podcast "New Heights" that he wanted to give the singer a friendship bracelet with phone number on it at a Kansas City concert. He co-hosts the podcast with Jason.

According to the New York Times, "Swift has attended many NFL games since – including the 2024 Super Bowl, which the Chiefs won – with 72.5 percent of NFL players polled by The Athletic saying the singer's interest in football is positive for the league. (Only 4.9 percent of players polled viewed it as a negative, and 22.5 percent viewed it as neither negative nor positive.)"

Jason Kelce, who is in his first season outside of the NFL, spent his entire playing career with the Eagles, winning Super Bowl LII and being named an All-Pro six times. He was in State College to appear on "College GameDay," which was also in town to highlight the top-5 matchup. ESPN declined to comment.
