Watch: Gucci Plays a Starring Role in Harry Styles' New Music Video

Matthew Wexler READ TIME: 2 MIN.

After gracing the cover of "Vogue" in a dress, pop singer Harry Styles is back in the fashion spotlight – this time, for reigniting our love for Gucci in his new music video, "Treat People With Kindness."

Styles recruited "Fleabag" creator and star Phoebe Waller-Bridge to co-star in the music video, which was filmed in black and white and harkens back to the 1920s. The Gucci wardrobe – "tailored blazers over tinsel-threaded argyle sweaters, wide-legged white pants and cummerbunds" with "matching cherry-red manicures," as described by The Cut – is the latest chapter in Styles' eye-catching fashion statements. Last month, he appeared in a pleated baby-blue tuxedo jacket provocatively eating a banana.

While the Variety cover ruffled feathers of conservatives like Candace Owens, Gucci has long been a favorite designer of Hollywood's A-list. In 2019, Jared Leto and Lana Del Rey starred in the brand's #ForeverGuilty campaign, named after Hollywood Forever cemetery (also featured as the shoot's setting).

Gucci has also migrated to the masses, recently launching a first-ever partnership with North Face. Likely in the works long before the pandemic, the collection's release comes at a perfect time as more consumers are headed outdoors rather than the red carpet. The expansive collection, which includes boots, gear and outerwear, isn't shy on branding.

Gucci's creative director Alessandro Michele "uses greens and blues that would never occur in nature and plasters the Gucci logo all over nearly every piece of the collection," as described by GQ. "The North Face x Gucci collection seems to argue that it's the natural surroundings that are there to see you rather than the other way around."

Whether you're in the woods or working from home, here are some of Gucci's latest looks for inspiration.
