Provincetown Theater Reschedules 2020 Season to 2021; Virtual Programming Continues

In adherence to Massachusetts government guidelines in regards to the coronavirus pandemic, the board of directors of the Provincetown Theater at 238 Bradford Street in Provincetown, MA has made the decision to reschedule all 2020 productions to the 2021 season.
"As a Phase Four business, we knew we were looking at a long range plan," says artistic director David Drake. "Our top priority in moving through this health crisis has always been to respect the safety of our patrons, our staff, and the dozens of actors and artists involved in our season. And mark my words, we are determined to return all of our community back to seeing these productions in the Provincetown Theater as soon as is safe to do so. Meanwhile, we're excited to continue developing new virtual programs, which will be seen throughout the year on our website via our YouTube channel."
The roster of 2020 productions to be rescheduled for 2021 include a rare revival of Mae West's "The Drag," the world premiere of Sarah Schulman's "The Lady Hamlet," the Cape Cod premieres of both Robert Chesley's "Jerker "and Bekah Brunstetter's "The Cake," and Eugene O'Neill's classic "A Moon for the Misbegotten."
Each of these productions will assume similar spring-thru-winter scheduling slots in 2021.
On the web at provincetowntheater.org, free-of-charge presentations have been streaming since early March. Along with the monthly story slam series, "The Mosquito," the Provincetown Theater most recently streamed Our Townie Variety Show – an original production on Memorial Day weekend that included over two dozen local and P'town- associated entertainers.
