PopUps :: Kim Kardashian Apparently Causes Mariah and Nick to Split

On Wednesday Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon entered the rumor mill: sources say the longtime couple, who have twin boys, were separated and planning to announce a divorce.

Well that all came to fruition on Thursday and you have none other than Kim Kardashian to blame for the power couple's marriage to fall apart.

TMZ reports the Elusive Chanteuse and Cannon separated in May and that divorce lawyers have been busy negotiating a property settlement and a custody agreement for months. They say the divorce is "a done deal."

Sources told TMZ they couple has been living in separate houses in New York City and that Cannon sees his children but they don't have any other contact.

According to the sources, Cannon's appearance on Big Boy's radio show in March sparked the divorce. On the show, he was asked to name five celebs he slept with; Nick named five, including Kim Kardashian. That did not please Mimi. Not one bit.

The R&B singer destroyed Cannon for weeks and humiliated him. Apparently, their relationship was never the same. The sources told TMZ things got even worse when Cannon appeared on the Howard Stern show and said he didn't sleep with Carey until they got married.

That was a big no-no. The singer flipped out and said she feels Cannon is abandoning her and his family by taking every gig that comes his way. They don't need the money and it makes infuriates her that Cannon does not see his kids enough, sources say.

Sources told TMZ Cannon feels it is impossible to be around Mimi because she surrounds herself with "yes men." They say he is upset that the singer is taking issue with his work ethic since he claims to have earned $75 million since 2011.
