Thirst-Trapping with Jared Leto — Man of Many Looks
The very busy Jared Leto said he was tear-gassed when he got caught in a anti-COVID protest in Rome on October 9, NME reports
"The Oscar-winner is understood to be in the Italian capital with his band, 30 Seconds To Mars. He took to his Instagram Stories in a now-expired post to share pictures and video of police confronting protestors, writing that he 'got teargassed then called it a night,'" writes Deadline.
Leto will next be seen in Ridley Scott's "House Of Gucci," Marvel pic "Morbius", and as Adam Neumann in the WeWork series "WeCrashed."
Recently Leto turned heads with advance pics from "House of Gucci," which is scheduled for release on November 24, where the actor is unrecognizable as the balding, middle-aged in which he looks like the disgraced "Transparent" actor Jeffrey Tambor. In the film he plays Paolo Gucci, and (according to AV Club) "looks like a high school senior who has started to apply old age make-up and somehow forgotten to ever stop. We half-expect him to mumble 'I've got too much shit on me' and mutter about how he doesn't want to be around any more."
In the film, The Independent writes, he wears a fat suit, facial prosthetics and a bald cap to play Paolo.
"House of Gucci" follows Scott's recent (and hugely underrated) "All the Money in the World." If that film is any indication, expect a compelling and even more lurid story of the fall of the Gucci family.
"Written by Roberto Bentivegna and based on the Sara Gay Forden book 'The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed,' Scott's upcoming film casts Gaga as Patrizia Reggiani, who was convicted of orchestrating the assassination of her ex-husband and former head of the Gucci fashion house, Maurizio Gucci (Adam Driver). Reggiani served 16 years in prison for the crime," writes Indiewire.
In the film Leto plays the Gucci "whose creative contributions included the idea to create the Gucci brand's famed double-G logo as well as its trademark plasticized bags and moccasins," reported Associated Press.
Patrizia Gucci, a second cousin to Maurizio, "is worried that the film goes beyond the headline-grabbing true-crime story and pries into the private lives of the Guccio Gucci heirs," writes AP. She told the story of the film in her own book, "Gucci, The True Story of a Successful Dynasty," which was published in Italian in 2015."
And shaded Leto's appearance as seen in the trailer. "Leto's Paolo Gucci, meanwhile, is shown with unkempt hair, and a lilac corduroy suit not at all in line" with her recollections. "Horrible, horrible. I still feel offended," she said.
"We are truly disappointed. I speak on behalf of the family," she told the Associated Press in April, adding that she reached out to the director's wife, Giannina Facio, with questions about the movie but claims she didn't receive a reply. "They are stealing the identity of a family to make a profit, to increase the income of the Hollywood system. Our family has an identity, privacy. We can talk about everything. but there is a borderline that cannot be crossed."
