Just in time for Pride Month, the Texas Republican party is running on a brand new platform. It's a lot like the old one but with a lot more bigoted and blatant anti-LGBTQ policies.

As reported by The Hill, the highlight of the GOP's recent biennial convention was the unveiling of 40-pages worth of new guiding principles.

Declaring a formal position against LGBTQ people and gay rights, the guide describes homosexuality as an "abnormal lifestyle choice."

"We believe there should be no granting of special legal entitlements or creation of special status for homosexual behavior, regardless of state of origin," the GOP declares in the document.

What's more is the document goes on to reject trans identities and any confirmation of.

Where does that leave Log Cabin Republicans and other LGBTQ GOP supporters? Reportedly, out. The Cabin group, which has historically supported the GOP's most damaging anti-LGBTQ policies was left out of the convention. (Now we are looking at you Caitlyn Jenner

Texas has been hit with a wave of Republican-led anti-LGBTQ bills this year with no signs of it stopping. The bills have specifically targeted transgender youth, discussion of gender identity in schools and participation of transgender youth in sports.

Earlier this year, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) supported charging parents with "child abuse" for allowing their transgender children to undergo gender-affirming care. An investigation has challenged the directive in court and put a stop to current investigations.

"Like, just leave the kids alone," said Sen. Ted Cruz at the GOP convention. "Consenting adults, you can do what you want to do, but this culture assault is driven by radical leftists who want to tear down America."
