Some of our readers might be in desperate need for a distraction today. And there's no better distraction than a trip down memory lane.

In 2003, VH1 aired a documentary of sorts called "Totally Gay!" that now seems more like a time capsule. The TV special focused on the state of the LGBTQ movement in U.S. pop culture and politics, focusing on some of the biggest queer entertainment at the time, like "Will & Grace," music, and so-called gay icons, the Carlson Twins, who are straight but were used in homoerotic ads for clothing brands like Abercrombie & Fitch.

The special featured a number of LGBTQ people speaking about topics including Melissa Etheridge, John Waters, "Queer as Folk" actor Robert Gant, Sandra Bernhard, interior designer Bobby Tendy and more.
